Various AdSense rules that need to be followed
When you've done a good SEO and managed to get some quality backlinks, you probably want to monetize your good position in the search engines. AdSense is quite a sure-shot way to make easy money as scores of individual website owners have used it for minting money. Much hasn't to be done and the website owners need to copy a certain amount of code on their websites in order to place the advertisements provided by Google. Does that seem too easy? Well, there are some written and unwritten rules which need to be followed when you are going to use AdSense. If you are not going to follow them, your aim of earning easy cash might not get fulfilled.
Such websites don't qualify for using AdSense which serve any type of content prohibited by Google. Sites that serve pornographic content, gambling, religious intolerance, hacking and other illegal activities can’t make use of it. If you host any kind of offensive material on your site, your site will not be considered for this program. Moreover, you can't sell certain types of goods on your website including counterfeit goods including currency, alcohol or other controversial goods or services such as prostitution.
There shouldn't be any copyright infringement i.e. using any type of material such as text, video, trademarks and logos etc without permission of its owner. You would not be allowed to use AdSense on your site if you are using a material that belongs to some one else without taking requisite permissions. Besides that, if it is found out that the content being used at your website has been stolen from somewhere else; you can be in legal trouble.
Do you think that you can earn money by clicking your own advertisements? Well, there can't be a more foolish idea than that. This is because Google has certain tools and ways to track the IP address from where every advertisement is being clicked. So, when you are trying to earn clicks by clicking the AdSense advertisements, Google is going to find it out and wish you good-bye.
The visitors to your website shouldn't be lured into clicking the advertisements by posting flashy texts, graphics or advertisements pointing towards them. This method is a clear case of violation of terms of usage of AdSense. Moreover, the user should be able to see the advertisement quite clearly and shouldn’t be tricked into clicking on it. In fact, tricks of any kind shouldn’t be used to gain clicks on advertisements unethically. Such tricks include:
- Usage of automated software tools that click advertisements automatically.
- Usage of AdSense on blank pages
- Such pages which offer no useful information to the visitors.
- Its use on those web pages or networks of web pages which employ unethical or black hat techniques to gain visitors.
You can't have more than one AdSense account. If you want to have multiple accounts, you should register with another email address and there are legitimate means to do that. Moreover, you shouldn't use advertisements exceeding a limit of three advertisements per page.
